		<description>Hi and thank you for the comment.  I am familiar with the OST certification process for disk targets, but your need is different.  You want to implement OST functionality in your backup application.

The core OST technology and API was developed by Symantec.  Your best bet would be to approach them and ask how you could license the technology.  I think that the place to start would be with their &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.symantec.com/partners/programs/technology_platform/detail.jsp
&quot;&gt;STEP program&lt;/a&gt;. 

I have heard it mentioned that they would license the API to other backup ISVs, but am not sure about the current status or cost.  Good luck!</description>
